Merit Plastik Expands Solar Capacity to 1.65 MWp Across Two Facilities
Following the successful installation of our first 0.5 MWp rooftop solar plant in İzmir in 2020, we have now commissioned a second 1.15 MWp installation in Manisa — bringing our total renewable energy capacity to 1.65 MWp and covering up to 70% of our annual electricity needs.
Merit Plastik continues to lead in sustainable manufacturing. Our latest solar investment in Manisa represents a major step toward our goal of carbon-neutral production. The rooftop solar arrays at both facilities generate clean energy year-round, reduce our grid dependency, and lower the carbon footprint of every kilogram of compound we produce.
As part of our ISO 14001-certified environmental management commitments, we track and report our renewable energy ratio annually. Customers sourcing compounds from Merit Plastik can incorporate our clean-energy production as part of their own sustainability reporting.
This investment reflects our belief that high-performance materials and responsible manufacturing are not trade-offs — they are complementary.
